This is such a succinct and accurate assessment of the descent into late stage capitalism with the corporate takeover of political power in the US - where does it end? And how many more have to die at the hands of profit before the world wakes up...? Of course, it’s nothing new as the Banana Massacre of 1928 goes to show. But, I guess, whereas capitalism’s (alleged) record of dragging hundreds of millions out of poverty may have had some legitimacy 30 years ago as prosperity for the masses seemed an achievable ambition - who can justify the current system at this point in time?
Israel's ongoing genocide of Gaza, for the whole world to see, supported financially and militarily by the USA and its patsies might be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
Our so called rules based order can't seem to prevent a genocide.
The veil has been lifted. What will the repercussions be? Can anyone still believe in the west and its institutions?
People always think big plans that involve the world are the stuff of conspiracy theories because most can't think beyond the notion there's one guy who makes a decision and his team vote for it and so it happens... the idea there's a masterplan in place that involves invisible superpowers keeping the system running as it must seems like the stuff of shadowy illuminati nonsense. But that really is what happens. The individuals they think are in power, be they weaklings like sunak or formidable threats like trump, are all but puppets. The empire has been in place long before any individual came into play

Same situation here in Canada too.

Thanks for the view from Canada. I think big changes are afoot.
I do too.
